give people a reason to stop.

Noise Club is your production team. We’re not here to tell you how to market your music - there are plenty of people online doing that already.

Put simply, a text hook is the line someone sees before they hear your song. It can help draw them into the video and give them a reason to turn the sound on.

For discovery posts, we’d usually start with the kind of conversational text you already see artists using on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. Have a look at what other artists are posting, then adapt the idea so it sounds like you.

Or ignore all of that and write whatever you want: lyrics, tour dates, a thought about the song, an introduction to your project, or something completely different.

We have no idea what’s going to work for you - nobody really does. But these are some of our favourite hook formats to get you started.

steal these.
change them.
make them yours.

Anything in brackets is there for you to replace. Feel free to rewrite the rest too - the best hook is one that still sounds like it came from you.

  1. it’s sad people will skip this because my music isn’t AI generated. so if you stayed 7 seconds you’re as authentic as f*ck
  2. i’m not even upset if this reaches 25 people as long as 1 person sticks around to enjoy this little (insert genre) tune i made
  3. I know my audience is out there somewhere, I’m just trying to find them
  4. the algorithm doesn’t want to push my music outside of (insert city). if this reaches you lmk
  5. spending 2 years on a track just for 36 people to hear it (hello all 36 of you)
  6. can you imagine if everyone who saw this interacted? I’d finally be able to live out my dreams as an indie musician
  7. can we normalise listening to small artists? I’m tired of people skipping our videos just because we aren’t trending yet
  8. I told myself if even one person outside of my country heard this song, I’d keep going. so if you find this, tell me which country you’re in. maybe it’s my sign to stay on course...
  9. if you’re seeing this you have FULL permission to use this video as a ticket to any of my concerts in the future (not joking)
  10. congrats, you doomscrolled long enough to find an artist that responds to every comment
  11. can we normalise not skipping smaller artists just because they’re not trending yet??
  12. my wife said “just post it, worst case like 23 people see it” which honestly sounds pretty wicked. so if you’re one of them lmk which (insert city) this reached you in?
  13. my wife said “just post it, worst case like 11 people see it” which tbh sounds pretty cool. and if just one person sticks around to check out the song I’d be so buzzin x
  14. my mate said “just post it, worst case like 40 people see it” which actually sounds wicked. so if you’re one of them lmk which (insert city) this reached you in?
  15. my mate said “just post it, worst case like 11 people see it” which tbh sounds pretty cool. and if just one person sticks around to check out the song I’d be so buzzin x
  16. nah not quitting because this is what my music sounds like
  17. nah not quitting because this is my music and even though I’m not a massive artist I think it’s pretty cool and can’t wait for people to discover it
  18. not to be dramatic but if just two people saved this song I’d probably shed a tear and write music for 6 months straight. no pressure tho obv
  19. hypothetically if you watched this video twice, you could be the reason I prove to my family that this music thing might work out. madness. no pressure tho obv x
  20. not to be too dramatic but hypothetically speaking if you were to watch this twice and save the track, you’d be the reason this weird little track I wrote blows up. mad.
  21. hypothetically speaking if you saved this song I wrote you could be the reason I quit my job (before AI replaces me) and pursue a career in music (before AI replaces musicians too).
  22. hypothetically, if you watched this twice, you’d be the reason this (insert genre) track blew up and I’d totally owe you backstage passes to a show

there is no magic sentence.

Hooks are just one part of the post. Try different approaches, keep the ones that feel natural and change them when they stop feeling useful. Noise Club gives you room to experiment without having to build every video from scratch.
